We all know that Halo 3 is gonna mean big bucks for Microsoft and could sell a lot of consoles, but is Sony planning something to fight this?
Analyst Michael Pachter believes that Sony could make some big announcements at TGS. He believes we'll see a lower-priced 40GB PS3 and a $99 PS2.
Pachter said, "Both of these ideas have merit...[and] we cannot think of a better forum for making such an announcement, given that the event is less than a week before the launch of archrival Microsoft's Halo 3."
The 40GB PS3 could replace the 60GB or just be a new, 3rd SKU. At $99, the PS2 will continue to sell incredibly well for a few more years.
